Linnets Girls Football
The Club is pleased to announce the launch of the new Linnets Girls section with the aim of inspiring more young females from the community into the sport.
Off the back of our established Linnets Ladies team and recognising the rising popularity of girls football, the Club has listened to feedback from females in the Halton and surrounding community and has successfully recruited Vicky Hunter, an experienced coach to set up and develop our Under 10′s girls football team.
Current school year 3 & 4 Girls are invited to join Vicky’s team training.
Vicky has 5 years+ coaching experience gained in both the UK and the United States, coupled with Vicky’s enthusiasm, a UEFA ‘B’ coaching licence and the support of the Club, the new U10s girls will hit the ground running next season.
The new girls section will benefit from the proposed re development of Halton Sports, ensuring our juniors have quality training/playing surfaces and facilities to match as the club widens its Community links and goes from strength to strength.
Vicky will be holding training sessions with the girls on Sunday mornings at Halton Sports. The team will enter girls tournaments and play friendlies throughout spring and summer in preparation for the start of the new 2014/15 league season in September 2014.
Want to join in team training? When and where?
We are initially looking to invite current year 3 and 4 girls to training on Sundays, 10 am at the home of Runcorn Linnets Juniors - Halton Sports, Murdishaw Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 6HP. Training will run alongside our established soccer school the aKidamey.
Sessions will then move to the brand new 3G facilities at The Grange school, Runcorn on Thursdays 6 - 7pm. With the other Junior Teams.
