Went to the game thinking it was the semi against Heath Rangers Bilbao but once again no ref turned up so couldn't play the cup game .So played them in are remaining fixture this being are 4th game against a good side. Started off by scoring in the first min and the boys looked well switched on for this. Going in at half time on top heath game out all guns blazing and brought the game back to 3-2. Our lads stepped up their game by scoring another 2 goal. Mom goes to cooper Norton for a top performance. Well done boys keep up the good work and a massive shout out to my parents there the best U could ask for thank you.

Well what a cup game! After going 2 down early in the game our team battled hard to get back into the with a great goal from our debutant Reece Gillespie, We kept going and soon got the equaliser through Tom Rigby it was a really good end to end game Pexhill took the lead then extended their lead to 4-2! We were up against it now some goal mouth scrambles and some great saves from both teams we were running out of time we kept fighting and got our rewards a great free kick from tom rigby and a last minute equaliser from George Fisher made it 4-4 with seconds on the clock E.T started and we were the stronger team we took the lead for the 1st time in the game a great goal from Cody Cunliffe 5-4 up then Pexhill equalised 5-5 we pressed and pressed and had chances penalties look a real possibility! Then with a minute left to go Cody cunliffe scored the winner OMG what a game what a gritty performance from our team such a proud manager to be coaching this group of players well done boys n girls 🙂 Goals from Reece Gillespie, George fisher, 2 from Tom Rigby, 2 from Cody Cunliffe, M.O.M the team!
U7Blue Linnets thundered out of the blocks and set a fast pace before conceding a goal against the run of the play. Kai cairns put in another solid performance and continued his development by listening to the coaches more and carrying on improving his distribution, well done Kai. Skipper Sam Dimelow was a rock at the back, bounding into tackles and clearing danger whenever it threatened. Sam was moved up front to stir things up a bit and that was exactly what he did proving a constant nuisance to the opposition defence and hitting the post at one point. Frankie Gilbert covered as much ground as anyone on the pitch. Showing glimpses of brilliance when trying new things it was great to see him expressing himself like that. We switched frankie to defence at one point and he fell into place really well showing a real mature attitude and doing his best for his team, fantastic attitude and job done. James Routledge was a menace to Weston throughout the match, long mazey runs, aggression in the tackle and a will to win as fierce as anyone I've seen. James was responsible for the moment of the match when backed into a corner by two Weston players he did a drag back in between them and carried the ball out of defence......move over Ronaldo 😉 Vinny Farrington was passing the ball around in his usual Pirlo fashion and showed us a different side to his game when pushed further up the pitch as linnets blue pressed and pressed in search of a goal. Koby McDonald was injured early and this undoubtedly affected his game as his usual clever runs and play seemed stifled by an aching shin. Koby earned us a penalty prior to being injured which the Weston keeper saved heroically. However, he showed real guts to carry on until substituted so well done Koby. Linnets spent much of the second period in the Weston half of the pitch offering up chance after chance which is testament to how far they've come as prior to this match. Bring on the next match 🙂 Mom Sam Dimelow
U8Mads The HDJL Spring Cup Quarter final against Mads u8's v Archers u8's. Even with a squad of only 6 due to Ethans injury and Aaron on holiday the Mads had a presence on the field that had the Archers under pressure from the off a fast and fiercely fought match with both sides giving their all . At half time with 1 goal down (Thomas Ledward ) Archers the Mads must of thought it wasn't to be their day, they had 90 per cent of the possession and started the first half full of determination, winning every tackle, picking up the loose ball but he goal to finish off their efforts eluded them. Second half went the same way as the first great defence from Josh & Brad in front of keeper Lennon, battling midfielders Finn & Freddie and finishing off the highest order from Connor you felt a goal must come and it did with Connor getting on the end of another attack to side foot home from 6 yards. Then soon after another run from Connor took him past the defence to knock in a great shot. the defence broke up an Archers attack and the ball ran for Connor with a clear run on goal, Connor despatched the ball past the Archers advancing keeper to give himself the hat -trick so well deserved for all his hard work, The Archers had a shot rebound from the Mads goal their only real chance of the second half , but there was to be no denying the Mads their victory of 3-1 Well deserved Mom went to the whole team , for outstanding play, teamwork and sportsmanship.
U8Archers So for the second time this season the two best teams in the league were pitched against each other early on in the cup!!!!! Our fourth meeting this year did not disappoint, from the off the mads got at the archers and put them on the back foot, first to every ball and battling hard. Despite mads having the lion’s share of possession Lennon was the busier goal keeper for the mads and it was archers who struck first through Thomas finally beating the opposing goal keeper with a well-placed finish, even after the goal another 3 good saves before the break from lennon kept the mads in the game. Second half mads carried on pushing for the equaliser and got the rewards through a goal from Connor early on, with both teams playing good football the game went from end to end, despite both teams pushing for a second the mads defence held firm and it was mads who duly scored the second after a fine pice of skill from Connor After collecting the ball on the wing he turned and then drove towards goal and curled a top finish into the far bottom corner, pushing for a equaliser archers got hit on the break after a clearance rebounded out to Connor On the half way line who advanced on the goal and finished coolly for his hat trick. ( well done Connor) 4 minutes to go archers pushed on and were kept in it as Eneil saved again to keep the score down before Thomas hit the cross bar. Alas it was not to be our day and we suffered defeat for the first time since the second game of the season Fantastic game of football to watch, played in the right spirit. Well done to the mads, good luck in the rest of the competition. Goal scores Thomas Ledward, (congrats Tom that is the teams 150th goal of the season ) man of the match Thomas Ledward

U9Green Linnets once again took their time to get into this game but once they did it was a great team performance. The passing was a joy to see, one touch through pex hill players. Even at the end of the game Pex hill coach said it was some of the best passing he had seen. Once again though we just couldn’t find a way past a very good pex hill keeper. Mom went to George Marshall who after being subbed after 5 mins because of his poor performance, then came back onto the pitch and ran pex hill defence ragged. The improvement in this player has been wonderful to see.
U10H&D Heath Rangers v Runcorn Linnets. Another excellent display from the Linnets boys in a game that was end to end and all about the goal keepers in this match. Who both finished the first half with a clean sheet. Linnets looked most likely to score in the first half, with a brilliant back post header from Lewis Owen that hit the cross bar. Second half was much the same with Ollie Butler and Lewis Thompson being denied by Heaths keeper and Josh McDonald smashing the crossbar with a powerful header. Just after half time birthday boy Lewis Thompson scored a classic poachers goal to break the dead lock. Despite our great attacking play the Heath lads played some great counter attacking football throughout and had it not been for a magnificence display from our new keeper Joel who held his forth clean sheet since signing with us, things could have been very different. Two of the best saves seen at this age group where witnessed and his dominance of his area all game made him an easy choice for man of match. A huge well done to all the boys who have become a dominate force in the league.

GU10Yellow Linnets yellows had two games this weekend. Again an unbeaten Chester was the first and to be honest we should of won, a few dodgy decision went again us but this was the best I’ve seen our girls play in a few weeks but unfortunately we didn’t have lady luck with us today. Mom was Ella Clifton-stringer with a superb performance at the back. Second game was another Chester team where we found ourselves 1-0 down after 30 seconds, But the girls battled back here was some superb passing and some cracking football played and the equalise came on the last kick of the game scored by Ella Clifton-stringer.
