Under 7s Archers

7/9/13 U7's Archers v H.R.B.L KO 13:30 Halton Sports #7 - HDJFL

A fantastic hard fought 1st game, a bag full of goals scored by Joseph, Jack, Finlay, Thomas, Jacob and Issac. However it was a tough match but the lads were passing it around really well and could have had a lot more in the net had it not been for the excellent HRBL keeper. MoM went to Jack Ball. A really good team effort all round.

 Under 7s Mads

7/9/13 U7's Mads v JFC Pavilions Predators KO 12:00 Halton Sports #7 - HDJFL

An awesome start for Mads. Goals coming from around the team: Lennon, Josh, Finlay, Ethan, Aaron, Bradley and Connor. A really good performance, passed, moved and finished very well and the lads were solid in defence. MoM was awarded to Josh Lawrenson.

Under 8s

8/9/13 U8's v Mags Spartak KO 12:30 Caldway Drive Mini C - BVJFL

U8s opening game of the season was against an excellent Mags Spartak side. On a lovely morning the boys started brightly and the impressive James Percy was put in an excellent shift on his debut. Linnets took the lead in the second half and it was no surprise that James got on the score sheet. However almost straight from the kick off the score was level and Mags started to control the play. A couple of late goals meant that it wasn’t to be Linnets day but all of the lads performances were excellent and they worked their socks off and made Kev & Scott proud , well done little men.

Under 9s

7/9/13 U9's v Crosfields JFC Ecuador GAME CANCELLED –WDJFL

 8/9/13 U9’s v Old Xavs Pumas KO 10.30 Arncliffe #1 - MHJFL

The U9's Sunday team opened their account in Liverpool with an emphatic 9-0 win against Old Xavs Puma. Linnets piled on the pressure from the very first whistle. The passing and movement soon resulted with Josh Oakes opening the scoring after 2 minutes. Another 5 goals followed in quick succession with Caine Obrien, Ethan Hansen, Elliot Norman scoring 1 each and Alfie Hayes netting 2 before the break. The second half saw Linnets constantly pressing and netted another 3 goals, Josh Oakes netting his second, Alfie Hayes claiming his hatrick and Jack Steele netting at the death. Linnets could well of hit double figures if it wasn't the woodwork and some desperate defending from the visitors. A very impressive first game for Linnets and a good display from MoM Elliot Norman.

Under 10s

7/9/13 U10's v Woolston Rovers Utd - GAME CANCELLED - WDJFL

Under 11s

7/9/13 U11's v Heath Rangers KO 13:30 Halton Sports #4 - HDJFL

First game of the Halton & District league at our new home versus Heath Rangers. Linnets started the game brightly and were leading 1-0 after a great strike by debutant Leon Duckers. Linnets increased the lead with goals from Ethan and Tom Collins going in at half time 3-0 up. Second half began and Linnets dug deep and were rewarded by increasing the lead further with a thunderous strike again by TC. Further goals from Tom Smith and a bullet header from Niall Roberts. The game ended 6-0  an excellent 1st run out all round by the boys with key players still to take part. Top performance by then engine in the middle TC and a well deserved MoM.

8/9/13 U11’s v Old Xavs Jags KO 11.15 Heron Eccles #2 - MHJFL

Over the bridge for a tough start to the Merseyside and Halewood campaign. A poor start from  Linnets left them 2-0 down with 20 mins gone. Some great Linnets passing and movement followed and a cheeky lob from Owen Bygrave got us back in the game. Linnets started the second half well and after some good pressure got their rewards with a deserved equaliser through hard working Tom Collins. Old Xavs extended their lead with a superb strike from their left winger. Once again “never say die” Linnets replied with an Ethan effort, only mins left on the clock and it was game on! Unfortunately Linnets were down to 8 as injuries hit and Old Xavs took advantage and counter attacked scoring the vital match winning goal. 3-4 defeat.  Some big positives from Linnets, heads didn’t go down and we battled to the final whistle so well done! MoM went to Luke Hayes for a outstanding performance in defence.

Under 12s

7/9/13 NO GAME - HDJFL

8/09/13 U12s v Groves FC KO 2:00 Halton Sports - CDJFL

A fantastic start to the U12s season with a great team performance beating last season’s Champions 2-1. Oliver Service netted both goals and MoM was awarded to the whole team.

Under 14s

8/9/13 U14’s v Arncliffe JFC KO 09:45 Arncliffe #2 - MHJFL

A 5-0 victory for the 14s. Goals from Max, Adam, Jack M, Jack S, Josh. A super opening performance with Linnets dominating possession for a large proportion of the game. 0-0 at HT, patience and class was shown by Linnets to break the deadlock 10mins later and went on to hit 4 great goals in quick succession. Fantastic team performance by all 16 players.

Under 15s

7/9 U15's v BPR Leiria KO 12:00 Halton Sports #5 - HDJFL

15s ran out 3 - 2 winners picking up 3 points from BPRL. First game of the season and Linnets weren't hanging about, they were straight into BPR from the start. Dan was to score first as he coolly rounded the keeper 1-0.  Lewis was next on the score sheet as he lobbed the keeper 2-0. Scott was to grab his first for his new club as he tricked his way past two defenders to smash in from just inside the box. BPR couldn't wait for half time as they hadn't had a shot on goal and were under so much pressure. The second half was a totally different story BPR had woke up and Linnets had gone asleep two quality strikes made the game 3-2 and only for some poor finishing the game could of ended a draw or even worse a loss.…took lots of positives out of the first half lads and will sort out the second half antics in training. Well done for your first win as a new team. MoM went to Scott.
