The lads hit the ground running
Some very good passing, moving and clinical finishing from Jacob, fin & that's saw us head in at half time in a comfortable lead
Much the same in the second half however and inspired performance from the opposition keeper denying us time after time
Good match lads, all the hard work in training is paying off, good passing, movement , shape and as usual 110 % effort
Well done

H&DJFL Autumn Cup
After the high of last week’s quarter final win the young linnets came down to earth with a bump. From the moment the ref blew the 1st whistle Brookvale got stuck in and harassed us every time we had the ball and broke with lighting speed. Half time talk the boys knew they could do better and 2nd half they played how they could. Passing and moving with speed but all that was missing was the final shot which on any other day would have sent us through to the final.
Good luck to Brookvale in the Final who deserved the win but next time we’ll show you how the Linnets truly play.
Goal scorer and Man of Match goes to our Captain Michael Hunter who every week gives 110% running up and down the pitch, helping with the attack and getting back to help defend.
Under 10’s H&D
Vs Brookvale (Friendly)
U10 H&D had a free week but set up a friendly with Brookvale Sunday team. Slow out of the blocks we were behind by a two goal deficit at half time after some sloppy defending. Team showed great spirit in second half and bossed the game after the rock Harlee Lloyd came on to settle things down and new boy Mekhi Knight took control of the right wing with a very impressive first run out. Two fantastic goals from Josh McDonald long range identical thunderbolt top corner shots, which are becoming his trade mark and a great well worked and placed header from Lewis Thompson ensured honours were even at the final whistle.
A few new things tried out today with Jak Molynuex our keeper of the past 3 years having a run out on the wing did himself no harm and looked dangerous going forward.
Lots of defensive lesson learnt today, boys were great going forward but also need to defend as a team today left defence isolated on too many occasions.

Vs Woolton Warriors

Finn1, Josh2. A brilliant start by the futsal boys, Woolton were well under the cosh due to some sharp passing moves by the team. Notably the magical Bradley Lucass who today inspired a real team ethic throughout the squad. Finley was hot on form winning every challenge followed up with calm and collective passing out of defence. Liam Lowe and Harvey were the pace in the defence, pressing the Woolton wingers hard into mistakes. A huge improvement on the week before by the defensive team. The forward line of Brad, Cresswell and Josh looked very dangerous every time any received the ball, with Cresswell in inspiring form with his through passes and Usain Bolt like sprints to get in goal scoring positions. Cresswells consistency is now an example to most in the team, always offering simple passes, and very high completion rate, making it look simple. Finley opened the scoring early with a perfectly placed shot from just inside the box, and Josh followed up with Linnets 2nd with once again an impossible to defend run, slotted home from a very tight angle. Woolton not a team to give up easy chose the cup style football of committing men forward and reaped the rewards earning a goal back. Second half Woolton really fought back and took a firm grip of the game, they eventually broke Linnets down and equalised. Soon after Linnets responded strong again with a now typical red hot Josh on fire scoring another Messi inspired goal to get back in front. Every week is a memorable game for the futsal boys...Woolton once again showed Linnets their strength by not quitting and after pressing the ever present and consistent Callum and tough-nut Emlyn at fullbacks, Linnets defence finally broke and Woolton capitalised on a mistake in the backline to equalise again. Harvey and Joe now in midfield were using their speed to their advantage with quick breaks but unfortunately the best move ending in hitting the post from a flicked header from young Stevo. Woolton fighting to the end got a reward in a penalty decision. Special mention to Alex who was busy as ever in goal and consistent in quality. Then the emerging presence of the brilliant Bradley growing into a true leader. A game of 2 halves, brilliant first half looking as skillful as the best with very sharp passing, second half was disrupted with substitutions, and the team never quite regained that level of confidence again. Great signs of individual brilliance, strong team ethics, sharp passing, and no question this team is on the path to greatness. MOM - Liam Lowe, for fitting in the team so quickly and fast becoming a superb wingback.

The U12s once again showed their class with some incisive attacking play, scoring 13 on a cold, wet morning in Rainfall, leaking one in reply. Will Meeks opened the scoring against Rainfall Rockets before Macaulay Clifton added three of his six goals in the opening seven minutes. Tom Smith scored an excellent looping shot and Caleb Rose added a super long range drive, while Tom Collins slotted two more to put Linnets eight up at half-time. In the second half, Macca completed his double hat-trick, TC also did it again securing his second hat-trick in as many weeks and after spending the first half in goal, Jorje Orme bagged a brilliant free-kick to round off the scoring. All the lads were outstanding and each earned a collective Man of the Match award! Big thanks to all the parents, who stuck out the terrible weather to cheer on the boys!

U13 g A bitterly disappointing result for the greens today with the yellows giving us a bit of a hammering.
Recent results and performance levels had suggested a closer game of it but it was not to be. The yellows were clinical and took advantage of our off day whilst maximising their own strengths.
Man of the match performance from Callum Watson, looking at home at the back.

U16 Linnets 2-0 Knowsley south. After three defeats linnets got back to winning ways as they took all three points. Deklan was to get the first with a well took shot outside the box giving the Knowsley keeper no chance, the second saw Niall bypass three players and was just lining up for the shot when Aero took it off his toe to smash home. MoM Deklan. Well-deserved win boys, let’s keep it going.
