SCORES ON THE DOORS!

U7Yellow     No Game

U7Green      A really good balanced performance from our team, some great goals and good general play.  A game that we controlled from start to finish, Weston played well but we were to much for them. Goals coming from Zakk Pinnington, Joe Thorpe, George Fisher and an OG. MOM went to George Fisher.

U7Blue

This was the blues best footballing display. Passing, movement, passion, commitment. Fantastic, lots of positives.

A predictably fast start saw linnets spend almost 10 minutes camped in brookvales half. James Routledge was a constant thorn in the side of the brookvale defence buzzing around and flying into tackles with hunger. Frankie Gilbert orchestrated much of the good work with his famous fast feet, attempting pass after pass and attacking down the wings and through the middle. Vinny Farrington strolled around midfield utilising his passing skills and dodging all possible tackles......people just can't get near him before he picks his pass......brilliant! Kai cairns improved AGAIN!! Distribution was brilliant, he made himself big and commanded his area like a boss!! Unbelievably quick goalkeeper development :-).
Abi Cassidy returned to action after illness and within a minute bundled the ball over the line after fine work outside the box. An instant impact from the most feared girl in the league. Great work rate and attitude, glad to have her back in the fold.
Sam Dimelow ran himself literally into the ground as at one stage he needed to take onboard some of his inhaler! Bounding into tackles for his team and dominating his much bigger opposition. Special mention to James Routledge for being a hat trick hero and Abi Cassidy for her goal on her return to the side. Mom James Routledge.

U8Mads       Saturday's game  saw a Mads team of just 5 players due to injury and sickness, meet HRBL EAGLES at The Brow School  no subs meant the boys had to play the whole match in warm spring sunshine, conditions which prompted the referee to stop the game in each half for the boys to take a much needed water break.  It was a hard fought game end to end football on a large pitch with both goalkeepers called upon to make a string of fine saves. The deadlock being broken midway through the first half when Freddie was up ended in the area, the referee awarding Mads a penalty that was converted by josh, this proved to be the only goal of the game.  Despite the best efforts of Aaron, Connor and Freddie to score and the defensive qualities of Josh at the back and Lennon in goal kept the opposition at bay.  Mom Josh

U8Archers   A good start to the game saw us keeping possession and creating lots of chance, After 10 minutes we opened the scoring through Thomas, despite Heath ranger’s keeper being the busier on the day an equaliser soon followed.  Not to be out done, we kept creating chances only to find the goalkeeper in fine form however we still managed to go in at Half time ahead in the game after goals from Finlay.  Second half we picked the pace up, and after 5 minutes Jake finished after a fine run from fin, Another goal soon followed as Isaac finished off a 8 pass move as we move the ball from defence to Attack Great response after The disappointment of the previous week, playing good football. Goals Jake, fin, Isaac, Thomas.  Man of the match was jack, solid at the back in the first half when we needed it.

U10H&D              Runcorn Linnets verses Hale Jfc. A slow start from the linnets boys in today's match and at half time it was honours even with no goals, despite Linnets putting on all the pressure! Second half Linnets raised their game and upped the attacking pressure and quality. Hales keeper was very good but the lads didn't become frustrated instead remained calm playing nice football. A special mention goes also to Tobey Lamph who looked confident and never put a foot wrong in defence today. Deadlock was broken by a great Josh McDonald individual effort which was shortly followed by the ever present Lewis Thompson. A third long range goal on the half volley was rifled into the bottom corner of the hale goal from an outstanding Lewis O who bossed the wing on the day, worked hard, was brave and showed his technical ability and deserved today MOM award. Well done lad’s football development at its best keep up the good work!

U14                       Scores on the doors from linnets under 14s who played bold Rangers today -

Another comfortable victory for the unbeaten under 14s side at home to Bold Rangers. Some fantastic football saw the ball hit the back of the net time and time again. And not to mention a superb save by our goalie, of the opposition’s only chance today when they had their hopes raised, when they were given a penalty. Every single player did what they were asked to do and turned out some quality teamwork resulting in fantastic football. 11-0 sees the lads remain at the top of the league with a 7 point lead over our next closest rival, Weston Point, who we play next week. Well done boys. Keep it up and the league will be ours.
