SCORES ON THE DOORS!

U7Yellow     Yellows u7s v heath rangers u7s (daz law)

Started off this semi-final in some style, really fast and fearless.  Wow what a goal by cc commando cooooper getting wiped out by 2 heath players bounced back up and hammered the ball home. Didn’t give heath any time on the ball in the first half and went in on top at half time. We started the 2nd half as we left the first half heath got 3 goals back But we marched on with a wonder free kick from the one and only Reece Perry (Ronnie) Score 7-3 to linnets with the whole team getting mom outstanding performance. On to the final we go again

U7Green      A gritty performance from our team with some good battling and tackling in tricky conditions a game full of drama 2 own goals a penalty and some excellent goals especially from our goal scorer Cody cunliffe, M.O.M Cody cunliffe, goal scorer Cody cunliffe with 2. Also I’d like add a correction and an apology to Cody cunliffe he scored last week and I missed it off the report.

U8Mads       Mads met Beechwood Dragons at home for a noon KO  after a wet morning the pitch was surprisingly firm but conditions were extremely windy making control of the ball difficult, but not impossible  as the Mads proved with another fine performance.  It took both teams several minutes to master the conditions then a corner taken by Freddie came out to Aaron on the edge of the area and his volley rocketed into the net, from then on Mads controlled the game a free kick from Aaron beat the wall and the goalkeeper only to hit the post but Freddie was on hand to steer the ball into the path of Connor who despatched the ball into the net , thanks to some fine goalkeeping and some bad luck Mads were not able to take full advantage of the wind.  Second half saw Aaron volunteer to go in goal so Lennon could have a run out.  From the kick off Mads increased their lead when Freddie had a shot with his left foot, this was quickly followed by a goal from Connor the result of some good team work Lennon into area to meet Freddie who passed to Connor giving him his second goal. Connor then quickly added his third a move from Aaron in goal via Josh who dribbled all the way to area to pass to Lennon who slid it to Connor.  Lennon then scored a free kick into the bottom left corner of Beechwoods goal. Aaron then threw the ball out to Finn who scored one of his specials, 20 yards out in slow motion and over the keepers head.  Josh then dribbled the ball the full length of the pith some great evasive moves and unselfishly passed the ball into Lennon’s path another goal for the team, Lennon then scored his third to round off the scoring for the day. Goal scorers Aaron, Connor Freddie, Finn, Lennon  MOM Finn

U10H&D              Runcorn Linnets v Brookvale.  Another outstanding performance from the Linnets boys who are getting better each week and certainly are a team on the up. The first half was all about the linnets who played some of their best possession football of the season but couldn't break down a much improved Brookvale. Shortly after the break a brilliant corner from Ollie Butler who on fire all game down the wing was crossed in to Josh McDonald on the edge of the area who smashed the ball into the roof of the net. Chance after chance came and went and forced some great saves from the Brookvale keeper. Also worth a mention is the 6th clean sheet on the row for our new keeper Joel who has yet to concede a goal in Linnets colours. MOM on the day went to our impressive captain Harlee Lloyd who showed his immense tackling ability, leadership power and authority all game. Well done lads capping off an impressive season.

U10WJFL            Warrington u10s. Defeated for the first time in 50 league games last week seen the boys bounce back with a superb game of barca style tika taka football in a mini northwest county tie versus Ashton athletic. 48 seconds to get the first goal and the boys didn't look back great game on display from all the boys working superbly as a unit. Goals coming from josh senior and alfie hayes. Well done lads #bouncebackability 🙂

U16                       Linnets 2-1 BPR.  Fantastic result which booked Linnets into the U16's final. It was always going to be a tense game as local rivalry came together in a winner takes all game. The previous two meetings had both ended in draws. Linnets were in no mood to mess around and straight from the start they didn't give BPR chance to settle as shots rained down on their goal and only for some excellent keeping could of took an early lead. Just thirty minutes gone and Linnets were awarded a free kick 25+ yards from goals. Deklan stepped up and smashed it in off the underside of the bar. 1-0 HT. The second half and a lapse in concentration from a corner gifted BPR an equaliser. As the game swayed one way then the other both teams had chances to win it but with only minutes left Aron was upended in the box giving linnets the opportunity to take the lead.  Deklan again coolly stepped up and cracked home the winner.  MOM Brad.  One of my best moments as a coach and can't congratulate the lads enough.  Let's go and finish the job now
