U7Blue         Heath Rangers Bilbao vs linnets blue u7s

The irresistible force met the immovable object in this battle. The blues started well surprising their talented opposition with pace and power. Kai cairns led from the back with his bravery and ability in goal including some brilliant decision making when under pressure. Sam Dimelow maintained his form against the biggest test he'll face personally this season. Out muscling opponents and showing some neat distribution from the back. Vinny farrington offered up some physical presence of his own putting his body on the line for his team and attempting passes others simply wouldn't or couldn't take on. Frankie Gilbert skipped around the difficult pitch with ease, sneaking possession back with his trademark fast feet and not giving Bilbao a moments respite. James Routledge did as James Routledge does. Grabbing the game by the scruff of its neck and putting himself in the firing line against a very powerful team. Finding space and attempting several key passes, encouraging. Koby mcdonald was played in a different position today and although it was new to him he took it on well. Strong in the tackle and available to receive passes......well done. Abi Cassidy serve up physicality to her opposition, a constant thorn in their sides with some tireless work up front.

Really encouraging from the blues and once again proving we can mix it with the best in the league now. Mom Sam Dimelow

U8Mads       Today saw a semi-final of the HDJL Spring Cup between Heath Rangers and the Linnets Mads u8's played on a dry pitch with plenty of bounce and a very strong wind blowing diagonally across the pitch.  Heath Rangers played with the wind in the 1st half and used it well, with long balls and shots from distance, to push Mads back.  The Mads looked disjointed and struggled to keep in the game a free kick 20yards out was belted into the goal by HR's number 3 opening the scoring.  Then the wind died down somewhat and the Mads started to control the game , Aaron, Connor &Freddie won a series of corners and put real pressure on the HR's defence .  The teams went to half time all square1-1. Second half the players found the conditions as difficult as the 1st but with more passing the 2 teams kept the ball on the ground.  It was end to end with both keepers being called upon to make a series of saves, the deadlock was broken when Finn controlled a difficult pass on the left touchline and hit a shot that rocketed into the top far corner, a Finn special. but within a minute HR's equalised a run on goal by HR's number 7 took him past 3 defenders and then the player slotted the ball to the left of Lennon, there followed a few minutes of frantic football then suddenly the game was in Mads grasp a goal from the left by Freddie, his shot arrowed into the top left corner.  A brilliant save by Lennon   and a period of Mads pressure culminating in a goal from Josh the Mads saw out the last few minutes comfortably and the final whistle brought to an end a pulsating semi-final, goal scorers Josh 2 Finn 1 & Freddie 1 MOM Finn.  Well done Lennon, Josh, Brad, Finn, Connor, Freddie & Aaron (Ethan) Good Luck in the final were you will meet HRBL.

U9Green              Due to the manager having interests else were and would rather watch a bunch off horses run around, the assistant manager stepped up to take care of what matters!.. His skills in getting the best out of a weakened team shone today, A great performance from the under 9 greens today which had everything a manager wants from a young team. Energy, desire and the will to win the ball back, some excellent passing and top saves from the keeper made today's performance a very pleasing one indeed. Hopefully we can keep this type of performance up and keep on improving from what we learn at training. the result was a high energetic performance.. Truly inspired by the assistant manager!!!!   Goals scored by Bailey and Michael with man of match being awarded to the team. Onwards and upwards.. We go again.. GO LINNETS

GU12Yellow        Runcorn Linnets Girls u12s Yellow - 3 v Macclesfield Town Ladies u12s - 0

Tremendous team performance this morning as Runcorn Linnets Girls u12s Yellows returned to winning ways in style. We took on a solid Macclesfield side but we were at it from the first whistle, completely dominating the game even with the strong, blustery wind against us. Excellent goals from Captain Fantastic, Callie (in another PoM performance), Amy and Ella sealed a richly deserved 3-0 victory. All-round, the girls were excellent in every department today - more of the same required in the coming matches now as the games come thick and fast for the rest of the season! Thankfully we should be back up to full strength for our remaining games.

Well done team - be proud of yourselves for your efforts and endeavours this season so far.
