U7Yellow Linnets yellows hosting heath rangers Bilbao at Halton sports on Saturday morning. Yellows started strongly and were ahead within a minute as Callum kerswell calmly slotted home for his 41st goal of the season. Yellows continued to dominate and was rewarded with a 2nd and 3rd goal from kerswell again and Tommy loyden. The defence of the yellows could not be breached with Cooper Norton, Danny mccaffrey and Oscar Burns in fine form. The second half continued with yellows passing, moving and tackling like their lives depended on it. Great link up from Reece Perry and Jacob knell almost added to their goal tally but they found Bilbao keeper in splendid form. The visitors did manage to pull a goal back despite a great save from Luke Jones. Overall a totally faultless performance with all players having their best game in a yellow and green jersey. Special mentions for Oscar Burns, Tommy loyden and Danny mccaffrey but whole team deserved mom awards. Proud coaches, players and parents. Well done boys.

U7Blue Linnets under 7s blue vs pex hill cosmos. Against a powerful and well organised team linnets were fantastic. Kai cairns was immense in goal aided by the always reliable Sam Dimelow. James Routledge and Frankie Gilbert ran pex hill ragged in midfield and were helped by Vinny Farrington whose passing was a huge plus point for the team. Koby McDonald came close several times after some intelligent runs. Two goals scored by man (lady) of the match Abi Cassidy which were fully deserved after a solid display.

U8Mads With no subs to call upon today the Mads met HRBL at the Brow school; Mads met a very spirited HRBL side on a well grassed heavy pitch. They had bouncebackability after last week’s disappointment and with no Lennon (injured) Finn took on the 1st half goal keeping duties, from the off both Aaron and Freddie were closing down the opposition there were a number of good early chances, Aaron scored 2 goals his 2nd becoming the Mads 100th league goal of this season a big well done to all the boys, both Freddie and Finn achieved their hat-tricks and with Connor taking the 2nd half as goal keeper he also scored a goal, Mom Finn.

U8Archers Archers took a while to get going this week and after 10. Minutes Isaac scored, but the lead was short lived as HRBL equalised almost immediately. Step up Thomas to score contender for goal of the season , hit on the half volley, 20 yards out screamed into the top corner ( mark Hughes eat your heart out ). After this we settled down and started to pass the ball about, just before half time we moved the ball quickly from defence to attack and Jacob finished well into the bottom corner. Second half saw us start with a lot more purpose with early goals for jack (hit a volley at the near post from a corner) and from another corner James guided the ball through the crowd and into the bottom far corner of the goal. Jack then unselfishly offered to go in goal and give Eniel a run out. After a couple of fantastic saves by jack Eneil floated a corner accros for Jacob to head down and Joseph finish of at the. Far post for his first goal of the season, well done and well deserved. Many chances were created and the Scoring was rounded off by James and Isaac. The boys continue play good football keeping the ball moving and on the floor, backed up by. 110% effort every time they go out and play, keep it up lads well done. U9Green Progression is what matters and an identity is what we're aiming for with the Linnets U9 greens. For the majority of the match, that is what we showed. Pressure and aggression in winning the ball back is what the majority of our play had today. The next phase is developing a calm approach in passing the ball out when pressured and finding a dead eye for passing. We will improve and get to where we want to be! WE GO AGAIN!! U10FU Linnets Futsal 5-2 Kingsthorne (Jack Cresswell 1, Josh 2, Harvey 1, Liam 1). A superb team performance from the futsal boys against a physical tricky Kingsthorne. First half was a closely fought contest, with Linnets edging ahead with a few moments of great passing football. Jack Cresswell bagged his 2nd goal of the season with sweetly hit drive through a crowded box. Josh Crockett stepped up once again to the score sheet after many efforts going close, finally broke through with a beautiful lob over the keeper. And the third goal come from tricky footwork from the futsal boys and persistence of Harvey following a deflected through ball to slot home past the stubborn keeper. Second half Linnets really stepped up with some fine football, and after 10mins of a closely fought match, the breakthrough came through a 4 man passing move, and a great run from Liam Lowe, who coolly slotted home to open up a good lead. The final goal after persistence and strong play in midfield, Josh Crockett fired in a long range shot which took a deflection to loop over the keeper. Although some fine goals, the real strength of the squad came from resolute defensive play from Finley, Harvey, Liam, Joe and Brad keeping shape very well, frustrating the opposition, all matching the opposition in strength and offering quality on the ball. With Cresswell once again in fine form marshalling the midfield, the team were always tough to break down. The squad now showing depth and flexibility with Callum and Emlyn showing a good partnership on occasions with great link up play, and Liam Lowe offering pace in the forward line, the team always looks dangerous. Top performances from Jack Cresswell and Brad Lucass showing great determination to frustrate the opposition with ever present quick feet, however MOM - Finley Maher for a superb performance as sweeper, leading his team throughout, a wonderful lad to coach, great team ethic and example to the rest.

GU10Yellow we had two games yesterday first games since 30th November We had two really good games but the results never went our way first game mom was Ella Clifton stringer with a superb performance in defence and second game was Nadiya Moore was MOM

GU10Green After a long break since their last game, the greens hit the ground running with an early goal against Egerton. Unfortunately with less than 10mins to go in the second half, we found ourselves 2-1 down but the girls fought hard and managed to equalise late on to earn their first league point. Well done to Jenna for an impressive debut and to both our striker Lilly and goalkeeper Frankie for soldiering on after some tough tackling! Our second match versus Northwich Vickie’s was always going to be a tough game but the girls were buzzing from their previous result and where hungry for more goals! After conceding a goal early on, the girls responded well and didn't need to be told where the goal was and the greens made it 1-1. The vickies then showed us a thing or two though and we found ourselves 3-1 down in the second half... What followed will be remembered for a long long time, as we dominated every blade of grass and fought our way back to a dramatic 3-3 epic. Full time arrived soon after our equaliser and the girls earned their 2nd point of the season. Fantastic performances all round. Elissa and Neva where outstanding in defence, Lilly continued her fine goal scoring form and Kimberley, Jenna, charlotte, keira, Frankie and Caitlin all worked extra hard to make sure we had a point to smile about come full time. Happy faces all rounds and an appetite for more points. Well done Greens!

GU12Yellow Runcorn Linnets Girls u12s Yellow v Chester Comets: The girls move up to 3rd in the table after a solid 6-1 victory over a brave, well organised Chester Comets side. A brace apiece from Amy (on her comeback) and Ella, with one apiece from Macy and Caitlin, saw off the opposition without ever really getting out of second gear. The only time GK Megan really had anything to do was to pick the ball out of the net from an excellently placed penalty - a reward for one of our opponent's few forays forward. But games like this against a defensive rear-guard action will teach our players about the benefit of patience and incisive, possession football. There will be sterner tests ahead in the weeks to come, but it's another welcome win. Keep up the hard work, girls!
