02/12/12 U7's v Old Xavs - M&HJFL

On a crisp morning the boys got back to playing football again after a few weeks of postponements. The game started off with both teams not really creating any real chances but Linnets soon started to play some lovely passing football and the goals started to flow, Nathan Mercer who was outstanding scored a hat-trick and goals from Charlie Fisher, Bailey Austin, James Walsh, Mason McIntyre and the goal of the day came from Leighton Stanley after superb passing from the team. Some excellent defending again from Joe Mercer, Kyle Codack and the fantastic Archie Nolan meant the boys ran out comfortably on top yet again. MoM went to Mason McIntyre for a great display on the right wing....well done mate. Special mention to Liam Hall for being a great captain and listening really well during training last week. Also BIG mention to Sam Bignall for doing a great job in goal yet again, we wouldn't be half the team we are without our number one goalie ...... Well done Sam . Overall another cracking team performance boys.

20/12/12 U8's v Brookvale - HDJFL

A fantastic passing display from the 8s, one of the best we have seen so far this season. Goals coming from across the team 2 from William Bloomfield, and a goal a piece from, Alfie Hayes, Daniel Lampkin, Jack Steele, Luke Smith and Josh Senior. Celebration of the season so far goes to Daniel Lampkin for his Gangam style and MoM this week is Michael Martin, awsome midfield performance, passing and battling is way through the Brookvale side. Well done Linnets great game

01/12/12 U10's v Heath Rangers Blues - Runcorn & District Cup

An away potential banana skin in the District Cup and one the kids thought they would coast........after a slow start against a decent Heath U9s side the boys got to half time 0-0 but went a goal down with 10 mins to play. This was a bit of a shock to the system and the boys reacted immediately levelling from the KO. Linnets turned up the heat on a tiring Heath who to be fair had battled hard throughout the game resulting in Linnets putting the ball in the net 3 more times. Goals from: Tom Smith, Jorge Dwyer, an OG and a winner from Zac Low. MoM went to Jorge Dwyer who was always a threat wherever he played.

02/12/12 U10's v Mags - M&HJFL

After being the best team and holding their own against a well organised Mags team, Linnets just couldn’t get the ball in the net. Niall Roberts crashed a free kick against the bar but it was Mags who took all 3 points after a last min winner. Credit to all of the Sunday squad who never stopped working for each other. MoM was awarded to Captain Tom Collins who lead by example.

Under 13s

01/12/12 U13's v Hale Juniors - HDJFL

Sat - Linnets 0-4 Hale Juniors. A very poor first half going down 4 goals in 20mins. Followed by a much stronger 2nd half performance. A weakened Linnets team struggled first half but showed real spirit 2nd half proving they can be the best team.

02/11/12 U13's Higher Bebington - MHJFL

Sun Cheshire Cup - Higher Bebington 3-3(AET) Linnets. (5-4 Linnets won on pens).  A very high quality game, Linnets went behind 3 times and fought back 3 times against a quality outfit. Goals from Sean Hanaghan, Andy Whittaker & Matty Parry. The lads showed real character throughout, and played some great football from start to end with just 1 sub. Eventually the game going to penalties, Linnets scoring 5 out of 6 pens with Luca scoring the final penalty and Joe Turner in goal won the psychological battle of the final penalty securing Linnets place in the last 8. MOM - Joe Coady. Kept the oppositions best player in his back pocket, and being first player to put his hand up for a pen smashing it in comfortably.
