09/12/12 U7's v Venny KO 9.30 Little Heath - M&HJFL

The weather meant this game was doubtful but luckily after a pitch inspection the ref deemed the pitch playable and the game went ahead. Both teams started off brightly and there wasn't many chances created. Midway through the first half Charlie Fisher picked up the ball in his own half and ran the full length of the pitch taking on anyone in his path, he cut inside the penalty box and neatly placed the ball in the back of the Venny net. If this goal was on match of the day it would have been talked about all night - superb Charlie. Linnets started to get on top and some good build up play led to Leighton Stanley firing in from close range and we went into the break ahead. Second half Linnets scored another from Nathan Mercer and the boys ran out worthy winners again. MOM went to Charlie Fisher for a superb solo effort. After the game all of the players and parents had a great day out at the local pantomime. Some quick changing from Walshy (“It’s behind you”!) meant he could keep his role in the Panto and also spend some time with his family, well done mate hope you got that eyeliner off  ha ha ha ha and ho ho ho ho ho.

08/12/12 U8's v Heath Ranger Athletico KO 12.00 Western County Primary School - HDJFL

A heath side looking to avenge a defeat earlier on in the season were well up for the game. Heath went ahead with a wicked deflection off a corner but from then on in Linnets went looking for the goal. Countless attack after attack yet the goal seemed hard to come by. The equalizing goal eventually came in the last couple minutes, eventual MoM Sean Gaskill went on a mazy run beating 3 Heath players before being fouled. Luke Smith stepped up with a trademark free kick to finish the game all square. Great game of football just unable to take our chances. Well done to all.

Under 9s

08/12/12 U9's v HRBL KO 12.00 Stockham - HDJFL

It was another convincing win for the 9s winning 11 – 1 playing some breath taking football. Linnets started bright with a high tempo, the first goal came from a good move and Joe Last finished in style, 1-0 , however H.R.B.L replied straight away 1-1, which the lads reacted to and stepped up to a different class taking the lead 2-1 Joe Last again. Then with the move of the game from defence to attack, a perfect cross from Fenton was smashed into the net by Ethan 3 -1. Some more great team goals followed from Ethan, Harry Davies, and another quality team goal with Fenton finishing the move off. Bradley Smith also got on the score sheet. Scorers:  Joe Last 4, Ethan Tabern 3, Harry Davies 2, Bradley Smith 1, and Fenton Gibbons who passed the ball really well all game, we gave the MoM award to the team as everyone played their part, well done all. Also a huge well done parents and kids for taking part in the Santa Dash on Sunday.

Under 10s

08/12/12 U10's v Tricorn KO 1.30 Stockham Ref: Joe Hill – U10s Cup

The 10s breezed into the Semi finals of the U10s cup with a 7-0 win at home against Tricorn, never really getting into 2nd gear.   Goals from: Tom Collins (3), Tom Edwards (2), one each for Ben Hough and Jorje Orme. MoM was awarded to hardworking Hatrick boy Tom Collins.

09/12/12 U10's v Old Xavs Jags KO 9.30 Arncliffe - M&HJFL

1-1 draw. A solid performance by the Sunday squad, getting better every week. Usual unbelievable shenanigans from 3rd placed Xavs Jags who once again tried it on by slipping an extra player on to the pitch at some stage during the 1st 10 mins (win at all costs!) 2nd time its happened this season. Anyway the 10s gained a point, by playing the better football and had they taken any of their 2nd half chances would have walked away with 3 points as well. A sniffers goal from live wire Owen Bygrave and a MoM performance from ‘Cool Hand’ Luke ‘The Rock’  Hays who kept Jags at bay and never wasted a pass all game, well done Luke. In all a great team performance, well done everyone.

09/12/12 U13's v Kingsthorne Jags KO 9.45 Arncliffe - MHJFL

Linnets 1 -1 Kingsthorne Jags – Luca with the goal. A strong performance from Linnets, creating many chances throughout and limiting Jags to only a few. 1 pt gained should have been 3pts, vast improvements since first weeks of the M&H league and the team are now looking more dangerous each game.
