Came out the traps and quickly put Weston point under pressure. Some fantastic goals and team work from the team. Daniel Grogan made some brilliant saves in goal and commanded his area well.

Under 7’s Blue
Vs Brookvale United
No Scout present
Under 8’s Archers
Vs HRBL
Combination of a
sloppy first half and good display by the opposition keeper saw the teams evenly matched during the first half. Fantastic second half performance saw us pass the ball much better, and compete physically against the opposition and play the way we normally would.
Mom Finlay
Goal scores James, Jake, Issac, Thomas
Under 8’s Mad’s
Vs Brookvale Celtic
Runcorn Mad’s travelled to Brookvale in the quarter finals of the cup.
It was a very close and hard thought game but in the end the quality shone threw and we secured passage to the semis.
Well done to josh Mom and well done to goal scorers Connor and Finlay.

Under 9’s Yellow
Vs Woolton Wizards

Under 9’s Green
Vs Beechwood Juniors
An entertaining game today for the Linnets under 9's green. The young guns battled hard in each half and could have scored a few more today, only being denied by the final pass. For a new team we are performing above expectations and that's down to the lads training well and playing as a team. Very pleased with your attitude boys and we move onwards and upwards. WE GO AGAIN!! Go Linnets!!
Goal Scorer – Luis
MOM - Harvey
Under 10’s H&D
Vs Hale Juniors
Linnets u10 H&D played a much improved Hale in the quarter final of the Autumn Cup. Lads started well in the first half, a great individual run from Captain on the day Josh McDonald resulted in a goal. The game became scrappy but a well worked and great finish from Lewis Thompson after the break helped the team progress through to the semis. Clean sheets from both keepers who played a half each from Lewis Owen and Jak Molynuex. Mom went to Nathan McLeod who showed outstanding leadership, organisation and desire to win every ball.
Under 10’s Warr
Vs Golbourne Sports Wanderers
No Scout Present
Under 10’s M&H
Vs Venny
Without doubt the most pleasing team performance this season so far.
The Linnets started the game full of confidence and began showing their quality from the very first whistle.
Moving the ball with great composure it was not long before The Linnets lads began threatening the Venny goal. The attacking threat of Ethan Hansen, Taylor Verdin, Deri Hutchinson and Zak Judge were causing The Venny all kinds of problems. This was also backed up by the impressive and lightening quick Michael Martin who chased down the Venny every time they had the ball.
The quality of football on show was a pleasure to witness but it was not just the attacking threat of the Linnets play that was pleasing it was also defensive play.
The rearguard of Luke Smith, Jack Steele and keeper Alfie Hayes was immense.
However it was Luke Smith who put in his best performance of the season thus far to earn the accolade of MoM. Luke was composed in possession, scarily strong in the tackle and led the defensive line brilliantly. He also got his name on the score sheet along with Ethan Hansen and Mike Martin.
Great display!!
Under 10’s FUTSAL
Vs Old Xaverians Puma
Linnets u10 Futsal Vs Old Xavs Pumas (Harvey 3, Josh Crockett 2, Callum 1). The futsal boys got off to a quick start through Harvey, who then followed up shortly with his 2nd. The defence was classy in possession with Cresswell, Finley and Callum comfortably passing their way out of trouble on every occasion. The attacking players were relentless with this defensive strength behind them, Josh flying past players like they weren't there, Harvey with some fine cross field passes and great final positions. The threat of hustle and bustle Joe in the box with 3 close headers, and 2 overhead kicks almost hitting the target. Linnets were unstoppable at this point at HT. Second half changes of position changed the balance of the team, and players forced to learn new positions. Attacking, the Linnets were a threat, and the defence were tested much more, suffering a small loss of focus, but then settled and the team once again started to dominate with Callum firing in a fine low shot from long range. A good performance against a well established M&H team. MOM – Hat trick hero Harvey Loughran Tan for a superb start to the game, inspiring a superb brand of attacking football futsal style!!!! And a well taken hat trick by the skilful attacker

Under 13’s Green

A great start racing to a 3-0 lead before collapsing and ending up losing 6-3! Bitterly disappointing for the lads but we will dust ourselves off and go again.
Our goals came from Callum (2) and Ryan (1) with man of the match going to Josh who was instrumental in all that was creative from the centre of the park.

U14's Girls vs Woolton, LCFA Girls league
- The girls put in a really good performance despite a depleted squad, playing by far the better football. Some really impressive individual performances and the team fought bravely and kept their heads despite the defeat. Final score Woolton 6-1 Linnets POM Ella H
Under 15’s
Vs Whiston Juniors
Whiston 6 v 0 Runcorn Linnets.
MOM was Joe turner
Disappointing result today after a good start to the game, the lack of concentration after a stroke of misfortune went against the team today.
We need to be more confident in our approach to situations in the game and take the game to the opposition much quicker.
Plenty to work on in training this week and future sessions, lads are going to have to dig deep and work hard to get in the starting eleven next week.
Under 16’s
Vs Town Green
Linnets 4 - 0 Town Green.
Excellent performance from all the lads today saw them cruise into the next round of the cup. Goals came from Mat, Liam, boydy and mom Niall.
Well done all the team
