 Under 8’s Archers
Vs Linnets Under 8’s Mads
Halton cup semi-final
A very tight first half, archers had the better chances but Mads had more if the ball without making the possession pay off. As seems to be the case this season archers only really got going in the second half with most of the possession and creating the better chances yet
Good strike from James for the Archers 1st goal, then an absolute worldly from jack, with Isaac getting in on the act later in the game.
Archers progress to the final after a hard fought match

Teething problems are always a factor, when a new team starts together. Linnets Green under 9's have showed great maturity for such young men. Never let your heads drop and keep working and training hard and you will get the rewards. We always enjoy our football and I can only see a bright future for the team. You have been excellent so far, so be proud of yourselves and we will progress together. Special mention of  the last BPR goal, great team move and fantastic headed finish, good to see in junior football level.  Onwards and upwards, WE GO AGAIN!!! Man of the match was Bailey for his desire to get stuck in.
Under 10’s H&D
Vs Heath Rangers Madrid
Semi final in the autumn cup against Heath Rangers Madrid. What a great match! The lads put in their best performance of the season. Two great goals in the first half from Ollie Butler and Lewis Thompson brought us in level at half time. Early in the second half Heath took the lead. The response from our lads however was superb, pressing for an equaliser and coming close on many occasions. Josh McDonald played in some great balls to the attackers and bossed the midfield. In the last couple minutes he stuck an awesome free kick but heaths keeper once again pulled off one of many great saves! Nathan McLeod put in an excellent captains performance and show of leadership but Mom went to Ollie Butler who had them run ragged on the left wing all game.
Under 10’s Warr
Vs Wigan
First half was an extremely close encounter with both keepers' in excellent form keeping the attackers frustrated. Linnets upped their game in typical linnets fashion, pass move and linking up to perfection. The goals coming from Ethan Hansen, Josh senior x2 and Michael martin. MoM went to 3 today. Josh Roberts in goal who not only pulled out some fantastic saves but also, with 2 attackers closing him down performed a cheeky Maradona turn past both and calmly passed the ball away. Alfie Hayes, fantastic reading of the game and listening to his keeper to help keep Wigan at bay. Third was Michael martin, not only did he pick up a goal but his defensive display was brilliant, topped off when the Wigan attacker was thru on goal, Michael gave up a full 30 yards and still managed to accelerate faster than a bugatti veyron to get back and make a last ditch tackle! Brilliant again from the lads
Under 10’s M&H
Vs Farmers
The game began with Farmers pressing the Linnets from the off, but the Linnets were more than capable of withstanding the pressure. In fact it was and the Linnets who was the closest to opening the scoring when a fierce Taylor Verdin strike rattled the cross bar. However Farmers always looked dangerous on the counter attack and had several opportunities to open their account. Some solid team defending and outstanding keeping it close until the break.
The second half saw the Linnets putting Farmers under more pressure and this pressure eventually lead to The Linnets scoring. The goal coming from an Ethan Hansen corner which was floated to the near post where Deri Hutchinson's clever back header found MoM Taylor Verdin at the back post to poke the ball home.
Another goal from Bob Martin for Linnets made sure the scores stayed tight and with the game now more open, and both teams creating chances right up to the final whistle.
Another outstanding display of junior football from both sides and The Linnets boys were an absolute credit to the club.
 Under 10’s FUTSAL
Vs Kingsthorne
A game of 2 halves.....first half was a superb example of aggressive attacking football. Linnets scoring through Joe Stevo with a sweet left foot finish after 15 minutes of pure attacking football. The Kingsthorne keeper was nothing short of exceptional with 3 magnificent saves and the bar being rattled twice in the first 20. Kingsthorne responded with quick fire goals. First half Linnets futsal calmness on the ball in defence was the real highlight with the classy Callum Moore putting in a Maldini-esque performance with fine distribution alongside the strong Finley and confident Cresswell, all creating wave after wave of attack. Second half was a real scrap, each time Linnets fought back, goals from Josh and then Emlyn. Kingsthorne would commit men forward and gained the rewards. The last minute, a fantastic Gerrard like ball over the defence with pin point accuracy from Harvey, Josh Crockett took the ball from the sky with a deft touch, the 2nd touch was a poked finish into the top corner, easily the best goal Linnets Futsal have scored this season at a crucial time. MOM - Josh Crockett for weeks of fine performances, and an amazing moment of magic for the linnets Futsal team.

Girls Under 12’s Yellow
Vs Sandbach Eagles & Fife Rangers
Two more fantastic showings this weekend from Linnets Girls u12s Yellow, with a 10-0 win over Sandbach Eagles and 5-0 victory against a strong Fife Rangers side.
Great team performances in both matches and really difficult as a coach to pick any standout player when the whole unit is clicking in the way they are this season. Having said that, good to see the set pieces we've worked on in training are paying off, with one scored straight from the corner by Amy (you'd say it was a fluke if she didn't do it so often!) and another brilliant side-foot volley for Ella from Lily's centre.
Have to take my hat off to Macy & Caitlin for stepping in to take a turn in nets with our 'keeper injured - both played superbly both in goal and outfield.
All in all, that's 39 goals now in 10 games, with just 4 conceded.
They're making us coaches proud of them every time they take to the field. Keep up the good work, girls!

Vs Linnets Under 13’s Yellow
A great game with lots of football played on the floor and with two teams keen to go about the game in the right way and with the right spirit.
To take the lead and get pegged back was disappointing but our boys showed fantastic spirit to get a 2nd to make the final quarter of the game difficult for the yellows, a great team ethic and maybe deserved more from this game.
That said we were hammered last time we played the Yellows so to go and compete like this was a huge result for us and feels like a win. Well done boys. Man of the match Owen roberts goals Ryan and Luke
Under 14’s
Vs Irlam Vale AFC Warriors
Great 6-1 result today for Linnets U14s against Irlam Vale.
We had to dig deep today to get a result coming off 1-0 up at half time and playing poorly but an inspirational half time team talk did the trick and we were rampant second half. Well done lads and especially man of the match Connor Lunt
 Girls Under 14’s
Vs Brazil 13’s
U14's Girls 0 - 3 Brazil 13's LCFA Girls League - The girls were unfortunate to lose today after a solid performance.  The opposition scored a couple of lucky goals which put us on the back foot however Linnets never gave up and we're unlucky not to score on two occasions in particular. Great attitude from all. POM Shannon G
