A brilliant game to watch end to end action with lots of goal line drama a missed pen an own goal the woodwork being hit at least 5 times, a real cup game both teams battling for possession constantly. The game could of gone either way in the end but we showed a bit more quality, goals from logan robinson tom rigby joe thorpe and an own goal

Took full control of my 1st game and what a game. In the warm up we did a Futsal drill for passing and moving in to space, from the moment the whistle went the linnets got straight at them and not giving them any time on the ball. At times I thought I was watching a Real Madrid Youth team because on the few occasion's sandymoore managed to attack Jacob and Harvey dealt with the threat very easily and then launched into counter attacks which resulted in us finishing the half 4-1 up. The second half was pretty much the same as the 1st half and once again the lads got stuck in and when they attacked it was just simple pass, move and shoot. The game saw some wonderful goals from Bailey, Jacob and Michael. Man of the match was a hard decision to make but went to Jacob for his defence play and starting attack after attack.

Final Score 8-2 and we go onto the semi final’s.

Vs Albright Juniors
H&DJFL
faced a tough opponent in albrights this week. Missing a couple of key players we struggled to reach our standard of recent games. Albrights capitalised on our slow start and scored a goal. Lads tried hard and there was some good performances on the day but with only 7 men we had little opportunity to change the game. Albrights got a second goal shortly after the break. Chances on the day were in equal share but we were unable to break down their defence and their goal keeper made a few great saves. Special thanks to Al and John for their support on the day. Mom went to Tobey Lamph upped his game in defence, with some great break up play, lots of effort and a battling spirit.

Great performance again from the under 10's against a tough physical opposition! Linnets dug in for battle without forgetting their passing game. Pass, move, composure and willing to start again, these lads have really started to develop a top class football brain. Goals were very well taken today by Ethan Hansen, jack Steele, Alfie Hayes and MOM Josh senior, for being a "annoying and angry" striker (in a good way) never giving the defenders a second to compose themselves. Brilliant yet again from Linnets

(Josh C 2, Brad 1). Linnets down to just 8 players due to illness to 2 key players Callum/Emlyn, get well soon. Once again another nail biter from the Linnets futsal boys. A slow start out the blocks once again put the lads under pressure going behind to 2 superb finishes. Halewood seemed to create attack after attack and have plenty of time on the ball. Once the Futsal boys started moving the ball around and pressing much more, the quality was there for all to see. Josh Crockett once again in fine form causing problems on the left wing for Halewood with his mazy runs. Brads introduction changed the game and now the more offensive Linnets were flying only to be denied by the Gk or last ditch challenges, and a smart overhead kick from a corner by Joe just going wide. Second half Linnets came out fighting with the defence looking very strong with Cresswell, Finn and Harvey now creating more chances for Linnets than defending, with excellent positioning and discipline. Joe and Brad were now winning the midfield scrap. Josh Crockett opened Halewood up with a dribble along the touchline then squared for Brad to poke home for Linnets first, shortly followed by Josh Crocketts 15th goal of the season with a fine finish. Linnets were back in the game, but Halewood also threatening the Linnets defence, only to be denied on numerous occasions by the amazing Alex in goal and great challenges from the now solid Finley, Liam and Harvey. Eventually the pressure told and a great finish from the edge of the box finally beat Alex the Linnets keeper. Linnets Futsal not the type to take defeat lightly responded almost instantly.....Creswell mopped up an attack to set his team mates on a counter-attack, and the brilliant Josh poked home from close range once again another remarkable goal from nothing. The game ended and it was a deserved result from 2 excellent attacking teams. Some fantastic individual performances but credit to the ever present never say die attitude of the Linnets Futsal players. MOM - Alex Shannon, the epitome of the never quitting attitude, kept the Halewood side at bay at key times once again. Linnets Futsal Brave in attack and possession. Defence and discipline will come in time, and even more clinical attacking football to come. Linnets impressive 35 goal start to the season in a tough league is a superb achievement. Well done boys, every Sunday an exciting game!!! 1st game on MOTD2 every week!!!!

The U12s ran out comfortable 9-1 winners over visiting St Gabriels on Saturday morning. Despite missing goalkeeper Joe Gould through illness and Jack Hutton-Clarke, the lads produced some excellent possession football, passing their way through St Gabriels numerous times. Man of the Match Tom Collins grabbed a hat-trick, Owen Bygrave and Macauley Clifton added two more each with Niall Roberts, who started the game in goal, and Tom Smith scoring in the second half. Another super performance with the lads producing some outstanding football week after week!

As seems to be the case every week we lined up against the yellows today with keeping it tight and fighting for every ball the plan.
We didn't plan to go 3-0 down in the first half though!
Fair play to the lads though they shook it off and came back fighting scoring themselves before half time through Luke and in second half gave a much more focused performance conceding only once to see the final score 4-1.
Owen Roberts took the man of the match award which was given by our opponents today.

First round of the District cup and with only bare numbers due to sickness and holidays the game was never going to be easy. Deflecting into there own net with only minutes on the clock, the linnets never recovered and town were well worthy of there 3-0 lead at half time. The second half and the linnets started brightly only to be caught out again with there nicey nicey approach to the game and town punished them with some well taken goals. Lewis scored what was to be a consolation goal as town ran out comfortable winners. M.O.M. Matty tyrell. Meeting the chairman tomorrow. futurenotgoodforme.com :'(
