Under 7’s Yellow
Vs Pex Hill Panthers
H&DJFL Autumn Cup Final
We started off very strong passing the ball about fanatic.
Scored almost straight from off and continued to do this throughout the game half time we was 7 up and the lads were Beaming from ear to ear as me and Darren had no negatives to say at all in are team talk just purely outstanding.
the boys went on to scoring another 5 making the final score 12-1 would like give a mention to Reece Perry with his Ronaldo style free kick top corner well done big man.
These boys will go far if they play like this week in week out. Mom goes to the whole team with all players getting on the score sheet.
That’s what u call team work. Well done boys keep up the good work.
One happy manager and coach.

H&DJFL Autumn Cup Final
As the boys lined up there was a sense of tension and excitement in the air
Both teams were straight at it, attack after attack, from one end to the other. Linnets soon settled into t rhythm and started playing the ball around the pitch, after an eight pass move started by the goalkeeper we took the lead after a cool finish by James past the advancing keeper.
But it was to be short lived, with the opposition equalising five minutes later
The first half ended level, again after a real end to end match
Second half saw us establish an early lead after Thomas finished off a well worked move, not long after the lads got further reward for the good football after jack broke from his own half, beat a man and rifled a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Linnets were really controlling the game at this stage with good work from Fin and Isaac in the middle of the park to keep possession, and supporting Jake up front with wave after wave of attack. Despite this the game was still end to end With Joseph and Eniel keeping Heath rangers at bay with last ditch tackles and fine saves not to be put off Heath rangers grabbed another back after a fine individual effort. The next five minutes saw both team hit the post and work the keepers really hard before linnets scored after Jake had held the ball up well until support arrived in the form of Fin, who coolly slotted a pass into the path of Thomas who cut inside and lashed the ball home. Five minutes to go saw Heath rangers score again. In a tense last five minutes, both teams had chances to score, but with a minute to go James picked the ball up in his own half and ran at the defence, getting to the by line to cut back, where Thomas was arriving late to place the ball into the bottom corner
The boys came of the pitch shattered after putting in maximum effort
Well done lads, a great cup final in which both teams contributed, you got your rewards for the effort, skill and determination you showed
Goal scores James, Thomas, Jack
MOM Eniel fine performance in goal with a number of crucial saves
Proud of you all boys, refreshing to have a group of players who just want to play football, listen , learn and put the effort in, thank you boys and thank you parents
Under 8’s Mad’s
Vs Weston Point Wanderers
H&DJFL
first in two ways for Mads saw us meet Weston Point for the first time and   play our first match at Haddocks Wood. We started as we finished last week going forward. Good teamwork, passing from the back to front saw us open up a quick 3 goal advantage Connor 2 Aaron 1 a fourth was added by Connor to complete his hat-trick . A fifth, the keeper’s clearance to the half way line was met by Aaron who one touched it straight over the keepers head and into the back of the net. Finlay and Ethan's great defensive work help contribute towards a great first half performance, which was rounded off with another 2 goals from Aaron his hat-trick goal from a one two with Connor, once again we went in at half time with Lennon keeping a clean sheet. Second half saw substitutions made but no lessening of the team’s ability or commitment, a goal from Finlay deflected from Bradleys shot then followed a goal from Freddie the end result of great passing between the team, 2 goals for Bradley the first teed up for him by Freddie, the second a result of great interplay between Connor, Freddie and Bradley in the opponents goal area. Connor added to his tally by adding his fourth before being substituted for Aaron who with a clinical finish from the edge of the box scored his fifth. The game was rounded off by a great bit of wing play by Aaron whose cross from the dead ball line was swept in by Josh at the near post. A great all round performance not only going forward but also another clean sheet for the defence. MOM Connor

Vs Netherley Wood Lane Legion
BVJFL U9 Cup
Linnets 1 - 2 Netherley Woodlane.
One of them days today when a lucky rebound and a great direct free-kick gave the win to a determined Netherley team. Well done to them, in a match that was great to be part of, both teams gave everything in a strong but fair game. Other than the result it's been a great week for the lads. On Thursday evening we had a trip to Burnley to watch England U21's, all the lads were impeccably behaved sharing loads of laughs along the way. Jokes, songs, screaming and the school ground secrets all came out on the way up the Lancashire hills, but most of all the lads were forming friendships growing together as a team unit. We all want to thank Stuey who went way beyond what was required to get the bus sorted after a last minute problem. As a way of showing their appreciation the lads have informed me that they have left a load of sweets on the bus for you, apparently you just need to pick them up!
Thanks again Stu it really was appreciated.
Under 9’s Green
Vs Weston Point Juniors
H&DJFL
Linnets U9 Greens go back to normal this week as they improved on last week’s disappointing performance in the Cup.
We went with a new set up in this game and seem to work straight away, from the first whistle the boys got at Weston point closing them down and not giving them any room to move. It’s great to see the boys when they counter attack with pace and width but also not being selfish and laying on pass for a team mate to score. Couple of things to work on.
Goals scorers this week –
TJ x2, Bailey Austin x2, Joshua May x1 and George Marshall x1
MOM
George Marshall who put in an amazing performance which I’m sure if we had a heat map it would have been red all over as he ran everywhere. He was attacking, defending, Tracking back and tackling. He set up 2 goals and got one himself, He has set the bar for future man of match awards now.

A Runcorn derby which was played in full derby spirit. Full blooded tackles, goal line clearances and fantastic saves. Unfortunately though it was Linnets who had to perform all of the above. An early goal for the visitors set the tone and Linnets had to work hard to prevent the game getting away from them. Alfie Hayes was again outstanding in goal, and for the second week running was awarded MoM. The double save he pulled off in the second half had both sets of spectators applauding. Bob Martin was also in the frame for MoM with a fine central midfield performance. Overall, all of the players deserve credit today as they gave everything on the pitch. The players should be proud of the character they shown to keep going right until the end.

Linnets 1-0 Town green.   Another clean sheet for linnets today and the lads had to work hard for it. From start to finish they battled their way through the mud as the pitch cut up, having dominated the first half they had nothing to show for it at half time but they were to get there rewards late in the second half. Jamie Thompson launched the ball into the town box only for their defender to slice the ball into his own net. M.o. M Jordan Jenkins. Great all round performance lads and another clean sheet, thanks to Brad for coming straight from school revision ' much appreciated'.   Can't see a call coming from the boss this week, so happy days.
