Under 7’s Yellow
Vs Heath Rangers Bilbao
H&DJFL
The lads started off very slow and went 3 down in the first 5 min.
Then the boys found there feet on a boggy pitch and started passing the ball about not like they would normally do due to the pitch but best they could. They got what that deserved in the end so well done boys for never giving up and playing till the end. Plus another fantastic free kick from our own Ronaldo aka Reece Perry
Under 7’s Green
Vs Heath Rangers Porto
H&DJFL
Well we decided to change a few things around to challenge our players for their progression and it paid off in the 1st half we controlled the game with some great play from the back from omarion joe and we hunted the ball down from the front with some great pressure from cody cunliffe and got our rewards we started the second half and Porto grew into the game some fantastic goals and performances, goals from logan robinson, omarion joe, and zakk pinnington

A game of two halves really, during the first half we were rarely threatened due to the hard work put in by the midfield and defence   first half saw us start very well scoring a couple of quick goals through Thomas and Jake.
Towards the end of that half the lads played some excellent football, maintaining possession for what seem a good five minutes, During this period a number of goals were scored and the ball was won straight back to start again
Second half saw us drop our concentration and effort levels and we resorted to running the ball instead of passing, this allowed the opposition a number of chances however Jack stood strong in goal and denied the opposition on a number of occasions
A good result at the end of the day, well done lads
Goal scorers James, Jake, Thomas, Finlay, Eneil

Under 8’s Mad’s
Vs Weston Point Wanderers
H&DJFL
Today’s match for the Mads u8's was a home fixture of last week’s opponents Weston Point, after 5 minutes of end to end play there was a goal from Finn following a superb team effort, fantastic skills showed by Aaron set up a goal for Connor then Josh dribbled through the WP defence to set up another goal for Connor. The Mads defended from the front, as soon as WP passed the ball Aaron would close them down and when our midfield won the loose ball we were able to go forward on the attack. Connor got his hat-trick, and just after a quick throw in from Josh fell to the feet of Aaron who scored his 1st of the game. Only minutes later a second for Aaron, Finn was then substituted for Ethan. The WP striker scored a fine individual goal but not to be deterred Josh took advantage of a loose ball and put himself on the score sheet, Connor scored his 4th with a great finish before Aaron scored his hat-trick goal from another great throw in from Josh, Ethan’s fine tackling disrupted 2 WP attacks and this took us up to half time. Second half saw Aaron substituted for Finn, Josh had a shot that hit the post then Finn scored a gift through the WP goalies hands. Finn got his hat-trick followed by another goal from Josh before what is becoming his speciality a goal from the corner kick from Connor. Connor was then substituted for Aaron who side footed home a great cross from Finn. Josh completed his hat-trick, Lennon came out of goal to swap with Josh to also score a goal, the teams scoring was rounded off with a spectacular rising shot over the keepers head and into the back of the net his 4th of the match but there was still time for another goal WP scoring a well-deserved 2nd,

Under 9’s Green
Vs Brookvale Vipers
H&DJFL
The Team started the game well on an awful boggy playing field, closing down the vipers until they let their heads drop after a wrong decision against them resulted in the vipers scoring a goal. The boy’s really never got back into the game until the last 5 minutes when it was attack after attack but just couldn’t get the ball out from under their feet to get a good shot away and when they did the vipers keeper put in some good saves but nothing compared to our little keeper Curtis, Finally showing what an outstanding keeper this lad will become with some top quality saves.
MOM went to Harvey who came on and put it a real shift. 1st name on the team sheet for next week.
Under 10’s H&D
Vs Runcorn Town
H&DJFL
Linnets started strong and for most of the game were attacking the town goal. Town’s keeper however was excellent and kept out several excellent attempts. A goal line clearance was made in the first half from a Josh Macdonald free kick that was flying into the top corner but headed away by a town defender.
Towns only chance of the first half came just before half time and against the run of play and would have been a goal had it not been for Nathan McLeod and a great goal line clearance.
New signing Mekhi Knight looked very impressive in his league debut and is certainly going to strengthen the team with his work rate, pace and passing accuracy on the wing.
Just after half time we got our rewards for all our attacking pressure when town put in an OG from a fizzed in Josh McDonald Cross. Credit to town who however never let their heads drop and scored an equaliser shortly after with a great lob finish on the counter attack. Lots of lessons learnt and lads need to develop the never say die spirit as too many linnets heads dropped when town equalised.
Mom went to Tobey Lamph for the second league game running for once again putting a great performance in CDM, broke everything up all game, never missed a tackle, passed the ball well and had an excellent attitude throughout.
Under 10’s Warr
Vs Irlam Vale Vikings
W&DJFL
Another brilliant display by the lads passing and positioning second to none! Josh Roberts the busier of the two keepers early on but what a keeper that lad is and won and saved everything! Part of the reason he was one of two MOM, that and his constant encouraging and talking to his team mates! Linnets got into their stride after 5 minutes and turned on their style. Goals coming from Alfie Hayes, Ethan Hansen, Luke Smith, Zak judge, Daniel Lampkin, josh senior and other MOM jack Steele, for his brilliant one touch football and his solid strong tackles and attitude. Brilliant!

Fantastic performance from the futsal boys, Alex the futsal goalkeeper earned his outfield debut and showed his true quality bagging 2 great goals from the right wing position. Joe Stevo was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet on his Gk debut, but a few good saves by being in right place at the right time. Linnets Futsal working hard on a defensive shape stood up strong again today, Finn, Callum, Brad and Cresswell keeping a strong shape and playing a great passing game from the back throughout, led well by Bradley Lucass. The strong defensive display gave the offensive side of the team the confidence to play with skill and guile, causing Old Xavs problems every time Josh, Harvey, Alex,Emlyn,Liam had the ball. Some fantastic top quality finishing from Josh and Harvey, and even Cresswell finally broke his duck to score his 1st goal. The pick of the goals a powerful low cross from Alex cooly back heel flicked in by Liam Lowe, a top draw clinical move. Goals Josh 3, Harvey 3, Alex 2, Liam 2, Cresswell 1. Linnets Futsal now on 45 goals in 12 games!!! MOM-Harvey Loughran Tan. A superb professional performance. Hardworking job down the left flank, with top quality football throughout.

The U12s made it three games on the bounce hitting double figures after dispatching Town Green 14-0 on Saturday morning. Niall Roberts ran the show with 6 assists as well as grabbing a brace for himself; Man of the Match Macauley Clifton helped himself to a hat-trick, scoring for the seventh successive game taking his tally past 20 for the season. Jaiden Patel, Jorje Orme, Will Meeks and two each for Caleb Rose, Owen Bygrave and Tom Smith rounded off the scoring and a special mention to Owen, Will, Jaiden and Jack Hutton-Clarke who all took turns in goal in the absence of Joe Gould. A really battling performance from the lads.
The structure of the league and the 13/14 competition is morale sapping for the kids and keeping them motivated is very difficult, so to go out and take the lead today speaks volumes for the kid’s spirit. The majority of the advantage that Helsby took from the game, they took in the last 20 mins when their additional height and physical development paid dividends and our boys can't compete with that. They're not able to be coached to be taller and more experienced. But on the whole the attitude was fantastic.
Two good goals from Ryan Brooks and a man of the match performance from Callum Watson
