U7Blue                What can I say about today, let me start with the comments from pex hills manager after the game "wow how much have you come on"I was really proud of them all and impressed by how much passing we tried. Kai cairns was out standing in his first full game in goal earning him joint mom with James Doolan who scored a wonder goal but also worked really hard. A goal from Frankie Gilbert was just reward for another tireless performance. Special mention also to the ever dependable Sam Dimelow and the clever runs from Koby McDonald.  Also big thumbs up to Tony Davies and Lucas Biggs for getting stuck in. Well done everyone including myself and all the parents are really proud.

U8Mads          Today’s Derby match between Mads and Archer’s u8's was full of end to end football.  Always a tough fixture today, Mads only goal scorer being Aaron Cox, and Mom going to Lennon.

U8Archers        Forget the Merseyside derby, today saw two very good Linnets U8's go head to head in what promised to be as always a fiercely contested encounter,  which in the past has proven to showcase the quality within the Linnets family at U8 level. The player’s behaviour and sportsmanship was good throughout on both teams.Despite the Archers having the majority of the early ball the Mads defending proved excellent and they built on this to take the early lead. The Archers finally managed to get past the superb performance of young Lennon in goal, Jack Ball charging up the field from his natural deep defensive position. Further goals followed, James Charlton (Archers) with a free kick from half way the pick of the bunch. Overall the quality of play from both teams was as good as we have ever seen it. Chances were few thanks to the collective defending of both teams and as always when these two meet, there was very little in it throughout. MOTM goes to Joseph Chaney who at the heart of the Archers defence snuffed out the majority of the Mads offensive with excellent positioning, bravery and determination.

U9Yellow             NO GAME

U9Green            The young linnets took their time to get into this game. Beechwood controlling the 1st 10 minutes with some great attacking play which brought out some great defence play from the back line. We changed the players around with a couple subs which helped us get back into the game.  TJ came on and started causing havoc down the wing which brought some great defending from beechwoods defenders.  We then conceded a goal just before half time from a corner which caused a bit of pin ball in the box.  The 2nd half began and it was pretty much end to end until the last 10 minutes where the linnets pretty much had beechwood pinned in their half and it was attack after attack but just couldn’t find the final bit with beechwood keeper pulling of some great saves and the entire team defending like a brick wall.

U10H&D             Another great game for the linnets against a tough opposition. Game was end to end. Neither team could find the goal first half.  Early in the second half the fabulous Ollie Butler hit a powerful shot neatly into the bottom corner. But Pex hill replied with an equaliser shortly after.  Picking the ball out of our net Harlee Lloyd (Captain) showed his leadership with his war cries to the lads to keep their heads up. All the lads stayed positive and after waves of attack Jack Cresswell threaded a intelligent pass through 2 players to send Jak Molynuex down the wing which he squared into the box for Mekhi Knight who finished it brilliantly.Mom went to Ollie Butler, who is going from strength to strength this season and always give 100% and showed his versatility covering several positions comfortably.
