SCORES ON THE DOORS!

U7Yellow     U7’s Yellows V Pex Hill Cosmos

With just a few remaining games left of the season before the Spring Cup final, the boys were keen to impress on a warm spring evening in Widnes. The playing service at Pex Hill was perfect for football, with a freshly cut pitch that suited the pass and move style of the yellows. The team took no time at all in getting their passing game rolling and stroked the ball around the pitch like seasoned pro’s in the Premier league! But to match the fluid football was the matched determination to chase every single ball across the field. The faultless performance of Cooper Norton saw pick up the M.O.M award, he must have covered every blade of grass on the pitch! Credit must also go to the Pex Hill keeper, he pulled of a string of brilliant saves for his team!  The Yellows seem to be loving their football more than ever, and look forward to having Oscar Burns back from his warm weather training camp for the next game! Goal scorers Callum Kerswell x4, Reece Perry x3, Jacob Knell x3, Tommy Loyden x2, Cooper Norton x2, Daniel McCaffrey x2

U8Mads       Lovely  Spring sunshine and the excitement and anticipation of the up coming cup final did not reflect in the performance that was witnessed at Haddocks Wood when Mads met Pavillions for the return fixture that last saw Mads put double figures into Pavillions net .  Saturdays match saw a disjointed and players not in position team and not able to replicate the performance when the two teams last met , Pavillions were full of determination and desire Mads lacked both although Mads had 90 per cent of the ball they could not turn it into goals. Well done Pavillions. For defensive work Mom goes to Josh

U9Green              The under 9's played Vauxhall Motors on Sunday morning for a friendly.  This was a chance to see how the new team for the summer league would play together.  After a slow start we found ourselves 1 down, seems the boys don't like early Sunday morning's.  It was the wake up call they needed and after making some subs we then started take control of the game with New boys  Callum and  Little Josh from the Mads putting in some great tackles and runs. Big Josh playing in midfield for change really took control of the game and started of every play through the middle of the park. We finally got our equalizer through a great run from callum taking on a couple players before smashing the ball into the far corner. We then went ahead with a lucky goal as TJ broke down the wing and sent a cross in which the goalkeeper miss judged the ball thinking it was going out, and it ended up creeping in the near post. The 2nd half was close end to end game with both sides attacking each goal. With 4 minutes to go Vauxhall got the equalizer they had been pressing for and one they deserved. Game ended as drew which was a fair result. Man of the matches went to Big Josh and New boy Callum.

GU12Yellow        Runcorn Linnets Girls u12s Yellow - 2 v Sandbach United - 1

Another match day and another three points for Runcorn Linnets Girls u12s Yellow. Kudos to Sandbach though for making it tough for us and making a game of it - but we'll take the 2-1 win even if it was a downbeat performance from our girls. Two well taken goals - a Macy special and a determined, striker's finish from Caitlin - were enough to seal the victory. Congrats to Tilly for an excellent, PoM winning performance in the midfield holding role too. This result means that the fight for second place in the league is in our hands now - one point behind Sandbach and with a game in hand. Two matches left - let's make them count!
