U8 Yellow

Linnets v St. Helens match report.

A Halloween special for the Yellows this weekend away to St. Helens, which saw the lads having their faces painted as ghostly footballers for the game.  The game saw the Yellows having to work hard against a resolute St. Helens team, and there was some lovely football across all areas of the pitch. The first half is best remembered for Tommy Loyden pulling out some wonder strikes from distance, there are laser guided missiles with less accuracy than Tommy had on Saturday! The second half saw a similar pattern, with the lads playing some lovely stuff and really holding their shape through the game and working for each other. The home side were battling hard and found themselves 2 on 1 with only the keeper to beat, but young Luke Jones stormed the striker to make a unbelievable save to keep them at bay. Big shout to Joe Hunter also, amazing feet and sharpness on the ball. Well done lads! Goal Scorers – Tommy Loyden (4), Reece Perry (2) Callum Kerswell (2) Joe Hunter (3)

U9 Archers

Great game played by two good teams. Hurricanes were very good defensively and worked well as a team. The Archers had most of possession throughout the game, working the ball with great 1 touch and 2 touch passing which created a lot of good play. Both teams also played with passion and good physicality in a fairly contested game. Eneil grabbed two goals in the first which were fully justified as he was rewarded for his excellent link up play and determination. There also goals from Jack who found the net well and a spectacular goal from Tom who shot found the top right hand corner from outside the box. The game also included a debutant for linnets in goal Ollie pulled off a couple of good solid saves which proved crucial in the game. Well done both teams.

U16

U16s ran out 3-1 winners with a brace from Josh Dudley and 1 from Morgan Furey. Overall good team performance just need to keep up the high tempo throughout the game against the better teams in the league.
