Match report vs Eagle JFC Madrid (Home)

The match came to life early on with Eagle taking a long range shot which Anthony saved well and quickly picked out a good pass to Oscar, who played a great early pass to Logan who took on his marker before striking beautifully into the top corner. It was a fantastic goal with Linnets going from one end to the other in the blink of an eye.

The Linnets defence showed great composure with some lovely passing exchanges - none better than when Louis played a superb back heel when under pressure to set up another attack for Linnets. Eagle showed what a good team they are with attacks of their own and one such attack was denied after a superb tackle from Oliver in the area.

With the half drawing to a close, Logan latched on to the ball and ran on to it from just inside the halfway line, with time seemingly standing still Logan kept his composure and balance when impeded and finished well past the keeper to complete a brilliant first half double.

Louis took the goalie gloves for the second half, allowing Anthony to get the match back underway by passing the kick off out wide to Luca, who did brilliantly to dribble past a couple of challenges and play a fantastic left footed cross in to Anthony who met the cross with a first time strike only to be denied by a brilliant save by the goalkeeper.

The Linnets defence were well organised throughout the game with Harry's positional awareness to sweep up all oncoming attacks playing a big part. Oscar was chosen as  captain for the day and he was very unlucky in the closing stages to see his fantastic long range shot bounce back off the post with the goalkeeper beaten all ends up.

Anthony & Luca showed their versatility by stepping in to defence for the last 5 minutes to help close the game out for Linnets in what was a fantastic performance from each member of the team.

Man of the match awarded to Harry for a great performance. Goal of the match given to Logan with both of his strikes worthy of the honour.

Well done to both teams on such a thrilling game.
