09/02 U8's v Beechwood Warriors KO 2.30 Stockham Fields - HDJFL
A really good performance by the 8s and a great game to watch with Linnets moving the ball around superbly! Up against a battling Warriors team who were well up for it. Linnets knocked the ball about excellently and had a lot of opportunities with cross's from the wings not being converted. Linnets however did score the all important goals. Coming from Alfie Hayes, Jack Steele and Michael Martin who then went on to mimic Steven Pianarr with having a "God Is Great" t-shirt underneath! MoM today went to two people and could have been many more. Sean Gaskill takes one with a great display at the back and starting attacks well, also for the talking he was doing whilst on the pitch. Alfie Hayes takes the other, a great performance. battling for his team and scored a fantastic solo goal. It started with a solid tackle winning the ball back for himself, a drop of the shoulder to beat the last defender and a great finish at the end. Well done 8s a great game!

09/02 U9's v JFC Pavilion Park KO 12 Stockham Fields - HDJFL
Runcorn Linnets U9s v Pavillions. Pavs put on a spirited performance and worked our keeper twice which forced 2 good saves, however we were the brighter team throughout and passed the ball well, Joe Last scored the opener in the 7th min, with a low power drive into the bottom corner, Ethan Taburn scored a good goal to put us 2 up at half time. The second half was much the same Linnets dominating but Pavs working hard as a unit, they have their keeper to thank for keeping the score down with some superb saves, but Ethan popped up again and sealed the win 3 -0. Harry Davies and Fenton Gibbons were at the heart of everything throughout, not a bad performance from the lads. Well done to every Linnets kid. The Junior Club should be proud as they brought through everyone of these kids in the team today from our Sunday aKidamey, they really are starting to progress to a good level this year, as the 9s league shows.

09/02 U10's v Pex Hill Pirates KO 12.30 - DISTRICT CUP
A rare off day and some missing key players saw the 10s very lucky to still be in the cup tie at fulltime after twice coming from behind to level 2-2, through goals from Jorge Dwyer and Ben Hough. It was still stalemate after extra time with chances for both sides. Linnets lost the pen shootout 3-2 after having their 1st pen saved. MoM was awarded to keeper James McHale who kept Linnets in the game with a couple of great decisions and saves, he also came close to keeping out two pens. In all a fair result, good luck to Pex Hill Pirates and a special mention for their big back two who were excellent all game.
