U8 Blue Linnets blue u8s vs Pex hill cosmos.... After last weeks performance it was an opportunity for the blues to send yet another statement of intent out to the rest of the league.......they did exactly that. After a slow start the blues soon starting passing the ball around like Barcelona carving opportunity after opportunity until eventually it paid off. A typically strong performance from Kai Cairns led to confidence flowing throughout the team. Quick thinking and decision making led to slick interplay. Vice captain Frankie Gilbert performed like a vice captain should.....leading by example with strong tackles and using his trademark fast feet to confuse his opposition. Vinny Farrington was in an unfamiliar position for much of the game but played brilliantly passing his way out of defence with confidence and setting up attack after attack, his good form continues. Harry Brown had a monster of a display, tough, resilient, strong and capped off with a couple of great goals.....fully deserved on the back of a top performance. Settling into the blues just fine. Harley Heckingbottom was a constant thorn in Pex hills side with run after run, wave after wave of mesmerising football and dribbling skills, goals were inevitable and they came ....fantastic!! Michael Heckingbottom played in various positions and did so with ease. Strong in the tackle with great passing when needed this was a fine all round display from a kid who is relatively new to the game. The icing on the cake being a great goal...well done!........ole croxton is essentially a goal machine, quiet and unassuming he goes about his business with consummate ease......getting more involved week by week he got his just rewards with 4 really good goals.....is there a celebration in there somewhere Ol?! 😉 To summarise, the blues March on causing a stir along the way. Great attitudes, great kids.....were really proud of them. Looking forward to the next match. Goal from Ole 4, Harley 2, Harry 2 and Michael 1......mom Ole.

U9 Archers Finally we kicked off our new adventure in the Warrington league with a home game against Golbourne Sports. The boys were eager to get our league campaign underway. With one addition in the summer ( Josh Howard) the team had a familiar look to it. Despite the 0930 kick off the there were no sleepy heads today as we got about the opposition from early on, pressing high up the pitch and moving the ball around well. First half saw the opposition keeper make a number of great saves but we made the break through after some great play in midfield released tom down the right who cut back for Fin to run on tot the ball, control and finish in one movement from a tight angle, more goals followed from James ) penalty) and Fin, with Josh, Tom and Jack finding the opposition goal keeper in fine form. At the other end the defence was holding strong, however did conceded to an absolute worldy hit from 20 yards or so. Second half saw us raise our tempo and wave after wave of attacks was repelled by the opposition, Goals di follo though through Fin, James, Jake and tom. A late consolation for the opposition ralied them for the last few minutes but we held firm. Great performance, hard work, effort and Team play was excellent, Keep up the good work. MOM Finlay Harewood.

U11 Green New season, new league and Linnet u11 green did not disappoint. Went 1 down after a scrappy first 10 against a strong Billinge Jrs team. But once settled were unstoppable. MOM went to an outstanding Ollie Butler who was just too fast and technically brilliant for the opposition to stop. Scoring 4 top notch goals and settling up from a cross a powerful Josh McDonald headed goal. Great team performance but also worthy of a big shout was Nathan Mcleod who raised his game and looked back to his best at the back, never put a foot wrong all game, powerful in the air and on the break. Great start boys 🙂
