U8 Yellow Their first game in their new league saw them come up against Earlestown Athletic Rangers at Halton Sports. The game kicked off with a flurry of goals, Callum Kerswell lived up to be fox in the box reputation and bagged a rapid hattrick, but Linnets found themselves up against a quality Earlestown goalkeeper….. In fact the best keeper they have played against, he made save after save against the Linnets team. The Linnets pressure was just too much for mini Neuer and Tommy Loydon rattled in a hattrick with some real poacher’s efforts; Joe Hunter also bagged one before the break. Credit to Earlestown they battled even harder in the second half and did their manager proud. Goals from Reece Perry, Oscar Burns and a moment for young Dan McCaffrey to remember, spotting their keeper off his line, he pinged a shot from the halfway line into the top left hand corner! The game ended with a brace for Joe Hunter. Well done lads! MOTM – Oscar Burns – Great feet, goals… and seems to have been inspired by the Rugby world cup as he was a beast out there.

GU11 Yellow Our girls played a strong vale Royal team. We also had a few girls missing too,
So we played girls out of position but they stepped up to the mark after going 1-0 down at the beginning of the second half. Then up stepped Libby with a superb strike from on the edge of the box
To make it 1-1 then in the last few minutes Leah strikes the ball with perfection and it fly’s in
We are very proud if the girls as they just never gave up and battled to the end mom went to Ella for her superb efforts in goal but all the girls played superb. That's 3 out of 3 in our league campaign now
GU11 Blue The Blues first fixture put them up against little known Lymm Eagles. The girls quickly found their stride, calmly and confidently passing the ball from defence to midfield into attack. Solid displays in midfield from Sophie, Olivia, and Oaksey quickly helped the blues find the net. Lymm's determination made sure the blues defence was kept busy and an assured and at times heart stopping defending from Georgia and Molly kept the blues in the game. Chloe in goal maintained her concentration throughout and was solid when needed. Leonie showed impressive composure and was unlucky not to find the net, Macy's determination and ball control helped the blues take control. Izzy solid as ever found herself upfront and smiling from ear to ear, a pleasure to watch
Jess's running throughout ensured the opposition couldn't relax.
Jess 6, Oaksey 3 and Macy 1.
Our second game put us up against a very strong Northwich Vickies, the Blues where quickly put under pressure and struggled to gain shape or control in the game. This group of girls however never give up and continued to battle to get hold of the ball and play as they know they can. Georgia and Molly determined as ever stuck to the task and battled to get control, Sophie and Olivia showed determination in trying to give the blues some breathing space. Chloe in goal was calm and composed as usual. Northwich pace and control proved too much for the blues but a great learning experience to take back to the training ground.

GU13 Yellow Runcorn Linnets Girls Yellow u13s - 4 v Lymm Hawks - 0
Well done to my Girls Yellow team for another brilliant showing on Saturday afternoon against a very good Lymm Hawks side. Our extra experience of playing at this level showed as we ran out worthy 4-0 winners.
Two lovely goals for Amy Meadows, a well-taken left footed curling finish from Kenzie Weir and a finely taken penalty from Caitlin Albiston sealed it, with some lovely interplay going forward and excellent assists in the build up to each goal too! But more than the goals, the team performance won it for us today as the girls were excellent from back to front throughout! But special mention goes to Kenzie for her PoM winning performance against her old team.
Well done girls - let's keep this 100% record going!
