GU13 Yellow   Runcorn Linnets Girls Yellow u13s - 7 v ACS Hillingdon Hawks - 2

Well, we were supposed to have a rest weekend, but with it being Girl's Football Week that just didn't feel right...
So instead Runcorn Linnets Girls Yellow u13s extended the hand of international friendship and healthy "soccer" rivalry by taking on touring US international school ACS Hillingdon in a friendly at Moss Farm.
It was on a small pitch with smaller goals and we weren't playing the format we're used to, but still great to get out there and play in this type of event.
In the end, our extra experience and team-work showed, as a hat-trick from Caitlin Albiston and one apiece from Macy Wilding, Ella Campbell, Caitlin Doran and a bullet that almost lifted the goal from its moorings from Callie Clarke-Smith saw us through to a 7-2 victory.
Some more excellent football this week on a very cramped pitch - great to see the team gelling and with every player in every position performing so well!
And some lovely moments that will stay with me as a coach forever - great sporting behaviour from both sides and all having some fun with this friendly fixture.
Great moments like our Keeper, Megan Shone, going up for every corner in the second half with two of her team-mates dropping in to cover - I think Megan covered more ground than any other outfield player today!
Hillingdon played their part too - great group of kids and never gave up, scoring 2 excellent goals (the first team to notch 2 against us since March 14th).
Massive thanks to Trans World Sport, Cheshire Girls Football League and Cheshire FA for organising this event and for inviting us to be a part of it.
Back to league action next weekend - more of the same please, girls.

U16                      U16s running out 4-1 winners over a good Parkdale Sidac team. With a brace from Jack Samuel and a goal apiece from Jack Swanwick & Morgan Furey.Man of the match awarded to Callum Moss who had a solid performance at the center of defence.  Still awaiting the elusive clean sheet the team are working hard to get!!  Good all round team performance to take into the next game.
